spotlight problems

the spotlights have a two pin connector which fits into a circular ceramic
connection;
It appears that the holes in the connection have become enlarged, so that when the spotlight is pushed into them it doesn't make a tight fit & fails to light.
anything i can do to make the spotlights fir correctly

These downlighters/spot lamps as our industry gone mad.

I know everything now is built with obsolescence in mind and it's great business to keep replacing the porcelien holders, the cable , the lamps but these things are so dangerous, they are like trying to work with a small nuclear device, I've never seen anything in a light for a house get so hot
