Spotlights in Kingspan

Been told by my electrician to leave quite a big joint in the kingspan for each spotlight to go, as they get hot.

I understand this but it's a bedroom and the lights probably wont be on that frequently.

It seems wrong to me to be leaving big gaps in such an expensive product, which surely will release heat.

Is there anyway around this?

Don't fit the spotlights.

They don't provide much light and as you are discovering they compromise insulation. Was their presence taken into avccount in caculating the insulation thickness?
