Spotlights in vaulted ceiling

Hi i'm building / built a rear extension with a vaulted ceiling. ive got 100mm celotex between rafters 40 mm below with 12.5 plasterboard below that how do I set up my spotlights ? should they sit between rafters and cut out some celotex?

You could mount them on brackets below the ceiling to allow them to be easily arranged, and later re-arranged to point to the areas in the room that require to be spot lighted.

No - I very much doubt that Building Control will let you do that.

Bsaically on the type of construction you describe there is no way to have recessed lighting.
