Spraying red oxide primer.

What's the best way to use red oxide primer, from a tin, in a paint gun+compressor.

Neat? with thinners? or just not doable?

Using the correct thinners, diluted to correct viscosity then it's sprayable, with spray gun, gives a better finish than brushing.
