spur 4 lighting?

Hi there, could anyone please help is it possible to run a spur from a suitable socket using lighting flex to a bulb holder? or is that just mental talk!

If you want to use flex, just buy a light fitting and plug it in....
If you want to hardwire, use 2.5mm2 cable to a fused spur, then you can run flex (rated to the fuse fitted in the spur (for a single light fitting, 3A would probably suffice)
