Hi there,
I live in a 1st floor flat and I have had a carpenter round to screw down floor boards to stop the squeaking. However, to my dismay, the squeak has reappeared with avengence in the hallway and a couple of really annoying spots in the lounge.
I have read various articles on the web about talc, putting more screws in etc but I don't think that's my problem...A builder came around the other day and reckoned it was the joists underneath that were moving and not supporting the boards properly, although he didn't look underneath?!
I phoned the managing agents, they reckon its a concrete floor with batons over the top, insulation and then the tongue and grove floor boards on top. He reckoned the batons/joists would never move???
Any ideas how to solve my squeaking?? Thanku!
