Im having a problem with a reoccouring stain on a bedroom wall,the stain is light brown and damp, it shows through the wallpaper,have tried heat gun on area and repainted [ wall is anaglypter covered ] this last's for awhile and then stain returns,the area is on the chimney-brest,could this be caused by fungal growth in disused chimney,if so what's the solution,any suggestions ???

Problem will be because of tar on inside of chimney. This absorbs moisture and then the delightful sepia tint spreads through the bricks.
You need to apply some kind of blocking solution to the wall to stop this coming through. Unfortunately I do not know any brands but hopefully someone else will happen along shortly.
