Stain Removal

Can anybody help please.

I have had a drinks cabinet in situ for many years and decided to move it. Unfortunately a bottle of something must have toppled over and seeped into the carpet. It is a well and truly crusty dried on stain obviously sugar and fruit based.

If anyone has any ideas on how to remove it I would be very grateful.

I have heard that white wine is good for removing red wine stains, maybe this would work..
