Hi all, I’m looking for an online staircase manufacturer, just a basic quarter turn in white wood (no MDF) don’t want it to last for ever but also don’t want rubbish, any recommendations? Thanks
MDF is often used on the risers and treads because solid wood tends to dry out and creak. Plus, because they're covered in carpet, MDF risers and treads are ideal. Never nail carpet gripper to the risers, use screws as hammering nails weakens the joints, thus creaking appears.
The stringers are usually solid wood, like pine, oak, ash etc..
