Stairs with short tread.. What are my options?

I have some stairs that have short treads

Basically if you wear a size 6 or above you will have to turn your feet slightly outwards, otherwise your feet will hang off the tread

This becomes very dangerous if you are travelling down the stairs at night

What I want to know is what remedial work can I do in order to rectify this issue?

Or is total stair replacement the only option?

If so, does anyone have any decent places in order to purchase new stairs

You will need to replace them to get full depth treads. The problem is that a full size stair will be somewhat longer. Can you accommodate this?
