changing to wood floors are no problem, what is under them now.
to find out lift a corner in a closet or take out a vent from the furnace you might be lucky and have hard wood already there.
if not go to your local home depot check with flooring and then go to tool rental and check out equipment to diy its not that difficult.
they also have seminars and 123 books on how to.
