Hi

My 307 is now 5 years old and the handbook states that the radio is pre-coded to the VIN number.

Could any-one confirm this please

Thank you

:D :)

Don't know about the 307 but I would think so, both my C5 and 406 are, if you fitted an uncoded radio it continually bleeps at you.

Can anyone explain how the radio is VIN coded?

You take it to a car audio specialist who has the necessary computer equipment together with your vin code and they write this into the internal RROM. Job done. Or take vehicle to someone with 'PSA Planet' diagnostics and a laptop.

You can use the radio without it being matched to vehicle but as has already been stated there is an irritating faint bleep every 15 to 30 seconds.
