I have to say that the few upholsterers I've worked with over the years have all used pneumatics - an that BeA is the name which comes up as an almost unbeatable product
As a lot of upholstery is into hardwoods, you need at least a heavy duty stapler like this. Most of the ones you get from Alidi etc, won't be up to the job. If you're doing a lot of it, then I'd agree with the pneumatic suggestion, but you'd only need a small compressor.
