this has happend twice when i go to start the car all i get is a clicking sound i took battery off charged it and its started the battery was not fully dead it had about 50 - 60% charge in it would this couse the clicking

Yes it would....why not take the battery to a motor factors who will be pleased to test it for you, and even happier to sell you a new one? A V Taylors have 2 branches in the toon. Cheers John
