The drive is steep, and the garage turned into a flat, so set about turning the first couple of yards into a patio, gardener had a heart attack, had to DIY, and load of building up required, so used ash from local steam trains, which seems to have worked well.

So now knocked down shed, and need to make some better steps. So fitting them 1780270214809.png in front of the concrete wall to right, old steps centre too steep. Since sleepers already used, 1780270401975.png the old shed base has been reduced in size and a wall of three sleepers used. Sorry too dark for new pictures.

So what I am not sure about is if I can use ash again under the steps, as there is a massive void needing filling, first step will have cement under it, to level it, but after first step it will need a lot of fill. And ash is free.

Cats can sleep anywhere - he/she looks real comfy.

You could mix the ash into cement, no?
