Can you please advise on how I remove this sticker to apply the MDF primer. I’ve tried ripping it off but that only shifts the top layer.

I am resisting the urge to wet it as I didn’t think I should apply water to MDF.

Thanks in advance.

Soak it with zippo lighter fuel first.
I don't think it will stain but dona test on a scrap of mdf first

The clowns that make this stuff, not just MDF but all wood products, shouldn't be putting labels on that mark the goods. Taking that label off has left a glue mark that is a diiferent colour to the MDF and it will show. Wood is expensive, even MDF, and when I buy my wood at the extortionate prices that it sells at I expect it to be as perfect as possible.

I’ve now applied 2 coats of primer and sanded in between. How do I determine if further costs are required? Should I apply any further coats of primer?

Current pics of bookshelf are attached.

Also, for my final coat are there any issues with using solvent based satinwood? I find that’s harder wearing than the water based stuff and not forever wet and sticky.

Appreciate your help.
