Briefly: the original glass splash back (behind the hob) was fitted flush with the new tiling. It lasted 3 months before cracking... A new one was fitted on top of the existing cracked SB as we were told it would be very hard to get the cracked SB out of its recess. The end result was fine, til it, too cracked about 2 years later..
So the solution is a stainless steel one, but:
Can we stick a thin steel one straight onto the thoroughly cleaned, second glass SB or should we attempt to get the second SB off the original one first? I am a bit worried that as this second, cracked SB already sits proud of the surrounding tiles, an additional new steel splash back might look a bit obvious?! Bear in mind the glass has cracked, not shattered; and it's 3 or 4 long lines involving the bottom 5th of the whole area. The edges look all but intact.
What should be use to glue the stainless onto glass?
Thanks in advance!
