i need to stick a wood threshold down between tiles and where the carpet will go down . the wooden threshold will go onto wooden floorboards. whats the best way to stick this down - will no more nails do the job instead.

the threshold is ona double wooden doors leading into the lounge.

thanks

There are a number of ways you can stick the threshold strip down, double sided tape as used by carpet fitters or use woodworkers glue for a neat finish.

i have some no more nails, would this do or better to get a wood glue?

thanks

Best bet screw and fill. That way you know it won't move. Gluing alone can come loose if it gets walked on a lot.

Double sided tape far to weak and wood glue unlikely to get a good enough contact, you could use no more nails but a mechanical fix [screw down] is more secure and allow easy removal should you change floor coverings. You could plug screw hole for an invisible fix or simply wood filler. Against tiles the threshold should be slightly higher [a couple of mm] so as to protect the edge of the tile from chipping.
