sticky walls

Hiya all, My son has moved out and I want to decorate his old room. He vaped in the room and the walls are sticky. What's the best way to clean before painting?

Decorators sugar soap. I find rubbing the walls with an old towel after cleaning gets the damp residue off. You'll see if the towel comes away dirty.
