Recent clarification of the EMC Directive indicates that it applies to electrical installations as well as to electrical equipment. BS 7671 has reserved a slot for new requirements [444] but the EMC Directive applies now.

Failure to comply is an offence and the penalties include fines and prison sentences.

It is your duty to minimise the interference created by any electrical installation you install (and possibly modify). There is not much guidance on this at present but some papers exist and the ECA Book "Guide to the Wiring Regulations" by Darrel Locke has some information.

Any current carrying conductor can cause interference and this includes circuit protective conductors. So unnecessary "pigtails" in cpcs are a no no. As a basic principle the lengths of cpcs and the number of loops should be minimised.

So no unnecessary looped cpcs or your for it :D.

I wonder it they would prosecute any one that suggested to others that unnecessary cpc loops are required :D.
