Stopcock replacement - Surestop

Yes. They are great. But make sure you get the new version (suitable for replacing existing stopcock). There are still some old versions kicking about on ebay that are not suitable for replacing a stopcock, just to supplement it.

Great - I will be getting someone in to do it as wouldn't dare try myself! Presumably a plumber will know the right model to use?

Get him to replace the stop cock and fit the sure-stop after.

They are brilliant when they work/don't leak.

That's an interesting suggestion!

Lever valve offers no additional resistance to flow unlike a stopcock.

They virtually never jam and have no rubber parts to wear out!

So they are vastly superior to a traditional stopcock.

But only very rarely used, perhaps for 2% of stopcock replacement.

Tony

I only used lever valve for someone with difficult to grasp on stopcock handle.

When a stopcock is knacker, I replace it with lever one.

Sure stop, never touch it, don't trust it, cos all plastic.

Daniel.

always use lever valves out of choice, the sure stop is great for the elderly/disabled though

Surestop is of no use to any one other than the elderly and the chronically neurotic.

Lever valves all the way.

Tony, where do you get your statistics from? And do they sell good drugs as well?
