I am getting some new fire doors and linings. My old ones have stop of 25mmx50mm which I thought was usual for fire doors. I see the new linings come with 14.5 x 32mm door stops

Is that how it should be?

well ive been told that it doesnt matter what size stops that are used.

what if they aren't?

Do you mean what if intumescent strips are not installed?

In that case, the doorset is not considered fire resisting

If you don't fit any strips, then the stops should really be increased as per "the oldern days", but then the door set might fail any check regarding compliance to current standards
