Could you put a plug on a storage heater and plug it into a normal mains outlet?

I know this will be v.expensive & it wouldn't be timed to go on and off apart from manually. But from a safety point of view ... is it ok?

Storage heaters run between 1.7kw up to 3.5kw or so.

The large ones by virtue of drawing more than 13A have to be on their own circuit.

Theoretically a smaller unit could have a plug put on it, but then you have to look at the use on the circuit you'd plug in to and make sure that the total demand is below the circuit fuse threshold.

If you really wanted to do this and are happy with the no E7 juice price, I'd suggest a simple panel heater which will provide heat on demand rather than stored heat
