We are putting a roof on a breeze block store barn . We have planning permission for timber A frames & corrugated sheet metal roof. the building is 9m X 5.5M. Can anyone tell us how many A frames we need to support this type of roof? What size timber they should be? How many perlins etc?
Many thanks for any help in starting this project!

Is this a barn conversion? ie to habitable use? Or you are just replacing the roof? Really upi need a structural engineer to design/size your structure. If BC are involved they will likely insist.

Thanks for reply - No not for habitable use, could be used as a workshop/storage, so just replacing the roof really. It is my daughter's barn, they have an architects drawings, drawn up when the main barn was granted permission but it hasn't got the details (the architect no longer is available - the main barn has taken 7 years & is now nearing completion), cost is an issue so trying not to have any further costly advice! Just submitted details of material even that cost £28.00! Planning have visited & will again, I assume BC will have to sign it all off.
