Hi just a quick msg

My fan assisted oven motor is starting to smell like "TCP" is this a motor fault or has anyone every smelt anything like this before and is it normal? Im an electrician by trade normally on the other forums givin advise now im humbly here :?

Isolate it (preaching to the converted), take the back off and check the windings on the motor. It might be overheating and your smelling the laquer burning.

Unplug your appliance before working on it.

Done all that :( bein a spark its the first port of call  but the winding on the motor did not look discoloured or running hot i was lookin for a build up of carbon from the bushes but this was also ok.. called dimplex and they where not very helpfull  the funny thing is the company i work for is a Dimplex heating agent and still they would not help. the oven is only 3 years old too and it was bloody expensive.

If you havent seen or heared of this fault before no worries i will bite the bullet and change the motor and see what happens.

Cheers for the reply anyways.
