Hi,

Please can I have some advice on behalf of someone?

They have had an two storey side extension done. It was completed around 3 months ago.
I was there last week and notice hairline cracks in the ceiling. I have attached pictures.
The cracks are straight lines and look as though they follow the ceiling plaster boards.
They are very tiny; he can just about get his fingernail in.
Interestingly enough, the cracks are in both the upstairs and downstairs ceilings and both are above large new vertical radiators.
The upstairs ceiling crack is a lot longer than the downstairs one and stretches further across the ceiling in an absolute straight line. There are no cracks on any other walls or ceilings apart from these two.
Is this something he should be worried about?

Looks to me like they didn't bother with scrim tape. So they'll all crack eventually.

Tell your builders to return and remedy - it probably needs all taping and re-skimming.
