I am looking to strengthen my garage roof before I have it re-felted. I have a few 5 x 2 inch joists there at the moment and want to add some more. I have the timber and the joist supports that fix to the wall either side. Does anyone have any idea the size of screws I should be using to hold these joist supports to the walls? Width of garage is 3 metres.
Looking to add the same 5 x 2 inch joists, probably over kill but at least all the joists will look the same.
Any advice on fixing the extra joists up?
