Structural Engineer Or Company To Install Loft Structure

Hi

I have been thinking for some time about doing a loft extension - Money is a bit tight and I d like to do as much as possible

Can anyone suggest a company to do just the structure of the loft and leave the rest to me?

Also to get the structure in place will scaffolding be needed - I guess so?

how confident are you?
I had no building experience and have done everything after a good SE gave me all the calcs etc, I also got a draftman to do a drawing and put the plans through Regs,
Mine is all wood but was lucky that the max span was about 3.3mtrs

Detached house - The house is 10 metres wide and 10 metres square so its not a small place

I am fairly confident and do not mind if it takes a long time to do

I would rather do it myself (and properly) then have some "builder" come in and do as he pleases. We had a builder round last night who talked for more then 60 minutes. He did not even bother to go to the loft and ended up quoting 50K just like that !

As much as it seems odd he never look i would hope he has already done a few similar so knows what the build costs are, the extras would be the standard of finish.

that span is not for standard wood as the max span is about 6mtrs
