I was hoping someone could give me some advice!

A week and a half ago I had a structural engineer come and measure for calculations on a steel beam to replace a brick pier in a kitchen extension as well as widening a doorway at the back. After a week I called twice and emailed and finally got in touch the 4th time asking for a quote for the drawings.

He said he'd have a quote "soon" and the drawings would take a couple of weeks.

I have no idea how long these things normally take so don't want to pressure him unfairly, but considering how hard it's been to get in touch, I'm worried that this will end in tears.

Any advice as to how long I should wait before pressing, if at all? Is this normal?

It's two pages of A4 text. No drawing. One hour's work at the most.

You are a low priority client. Unless there are specific reasons to use this engineer, then I'd find one who is more client friendly.
