Has anybody who's done this got any thoughts on whether it's worth a go or not? and before you start bamber f*ck off I'm looking for useful advice.

Got a mate that does servicing for them, gets roughly a grand a week for a 5 day week ten appliances a day. and other than a couple of months at the beginning of this year he has had over two years from them . They are easy going about what weeks he does and wether he does a 3/4/5 day week. Providing he is not stupid about it, so can still do his own work if need be.

How very dare you

You can`t be up to much if you have to go begging bg for their slops ( couldn`t help meself )

Well i call him a mate he calls me other things  ...

£21 an appliance 12/13 jobs sent to him each day gets into ten ..simple maths 5 days = a grand ish

I haven't subbed but worked directly for them last summer and did about 850 - 900 a week for a six day week.

Its not too bad get the work were there engineers don't want to go right up in the city my way. Get a lot of full systems depends how quick you are some subbies do 60-80 hours a week at £26.50 an hour (two big systems).

JB £26.50 an hour who's offering that do you know? I was offered £20 an hour through an agency for southampton area, and that's only if you have your own van.

How do you go about getting the wrk from them?did have a number for place last year-could wrk direct for them or self employed in south bham for british gas but have lost their number, from what i heard form the lads doing it they were making quite abit of money from it

With me it was through an agency, orionelectrosomethingorother they advertise for people all the time on the jobcentreplus site. As said though they're offering £20 an hour if you have a van, £17 an hour if they have to provide one. It depends on how many hours per job you're allowed I suppose, I was told 12 hrs for a combi swap with powerflush.
