My Pulsa Coil 2000 has stopped generating any hot water. I've had the unit checked but I'm told that it's faulty and beyond economic repair.

I'd like to replace it and make sure the new unit has a good reputation/fuel efficient etc.

Does any one have any recommendations on the best options for this type of water heater?

I've based in EC1 in London so any recommended installers would be a bonus!

Thanks!!!

yes and Dr Drivel who used to frequent this forum was a big advocate of those systems! He proabaly used to work for one of the companies who made them!

Anyway, take it out and replace with mid sized unvented cylinder. If you can't route the discharge pipe, then your going to be stuck with a like for like replacement.

You didnt say what was actually wrong with it, I suspect because the person who looked at it doesnt know, hence why they said it was finished. it can probably be repaired. They're only usually BER if they leak. Get another opinion.

I'm told the unit has corroded inside and is leaking beyond repair. The plumber who looked at is it isn't pushing me to buy a replacement from him which makes be confident that he's correct. I can see water leak marks around the unit once the cover is off.

Should I just replace with exactly the same unit? Once the cover was taken off seems dated technology....but maybe things haven't moved on much with these types of heaters?

Could be the flow sensor and is a common fault on these afaik.
It's a screw in sensor with three wires but you need to replace the right one.

Its not difficult to ascertain if the plate pump is operating when water is flowed at the hot taps.
You could probably do that and confirm the fault and tell the plumber the next time he arrives what needs replacing.
