Suitable for tiling?

Evening folks,

Ive stripped off some of the old tiles and got back to this (see below) which appears to be plasterboard, the adhesive has removed all of the grey paper. Question is am I ok to patch up any hole and tile on top of this? Or should I strip back to the stud work and reboard?

I'm using Weber Fix WR as adhesive for standard shower over a bath.

Advice always appreciated -

So the paper skin of the plasterboard has now been removed?
If so, it would be wise to replace the board.
