Split face tiles

Hi,

I’m wanting to tile the front of a home bar I’ve made with split face slate tiles. It currently has 12.5mm plasterboard fixed to wooden studs. Would this be suitable for this type of tile and which adhesive would be best?

also, any recommendations on the best place to purchase these type of tiles would be greatly appreciated.
