I have been advised to buy rapid setting adhesive for the tiles I have to go behind my log burner. Will this kind of adhesive be ok and not heat proof adhesive? The tiles I have are split face slate type.
Thanks

This is what I used on mine and what other stove fitters in the area have used. The only 'heat-proof' substance I did use was the Mapei high temperature grouting which is rated at 1300 degrees C. Think it was called Firestop.
