That's currently floorboards one side, carpet the other in a doorway that leads from living room to diner. In the end both sides will be carpeted.

I'm using the Johnstones Aqua range for painting the woodwork & in some areas the Sikkens satin but i'm not convinced that these are suitable for the area i arrowed in the photo.

This will surely end up getting kicked, stepped on, knocked in to & chipped.

What i'm looking for is recommendations on a suitable paint to be used just where i've arrowed so that it holds up against chipping as best as it possibly can.

In white :)

Can anyone recommend a suitable paint for this? Thanks.

No. Use a hardwood threshold strip.

Or a brass (or even aluminium) one.

There is no paint at all that is suitable for this then?

Just to clarify that's what you're saying that's all.

People should be brought up better than to regularly stand on or kick thresholds.

I was.
