Hi all, I am in the process of designing a summer house for next spring and need some advice. My idea is to lay a concrete base of 100mm with steel mesh and then to have a short brick plinth on which would stand stud frames which would then be boarded and clad in plastic shiplap.my question is what should i use as a moisture barrier between the brick and stud frames. A friend suggested some sort of metal channel. does any one know if such a product exists. Thanks for any advice/help you may be able to pass on.

As an overall rate, I think it is a good idea for a summer house design. I believe that there is no ugly or hideous home design as long as you keep the concept unique and creative. Lastly, as what your friend suggested you to use ask him about its quality and how effective it would last.

Hard to decipher what it is exactly you are doing, but if you are talking about between the timber frame and external brickwork you should use building paper.
