that's not much. How did you arrive at your figure?

@JohnD

Seeing as @hard work didn't mention gas bill but a DHW bill your argument falls short of the mark.

Whilst I appreciate the interviewer stated gas bill the statement from the tester was with regards to the DHW usage. Which, as you have stated previously and we have all read, may be misleading however @hard-work was not. I think an apology may be in order.

I would quote but this multi quote malarkey doesn't work well on phones.

Que @JohnD making a flippant, non sensical or otherwise contrived comment to back track from what was said. If an apology actually appears then I apologise in advance for that.

Otherwise I agree John, payback is carp, product is carp but I can see a potential in commercial possibly but it needs years and years of work to become close to feasible.

I've given a worked example of the cost of heating my HW with gas. It's very easy for me to find, because, in summer, that's what I use gas for. I've shown how much gas it is, and what it costs.

I also know that there are only about half the days in the year when my solar panels are generating enough electricity to heat the HW. So even if they cut HW gas usage to zero on those 183 days (they don't), they couldn't cut the HW gas usage by more than 50%.

So 75% is wrong.

I did invite hardwork to provide his figures so we can see his calculation. I don't know if he will. Would you like to provide yours?

I couldn't provide anything until we establish what you mean. You argue gas bill to now DHW bill which is why you owe an apology.

Oh and he never actually mentions a gas bill he says it's an estimate of around 75% of hot water usage. Big difference from a 75% bill saving.

you are welcome to provide your figures

then I'll be free to comment on them as freely as you do on mine.

I've mentioned gas usage for heating HW, and I've mentioned cost of gas to heat HW. Neither of those drop by 75%.

I've said it can't save 75% on the gas bill, which it can't, and I've also said it can't save 75% on the hot water bill, which it can't. It can't save 75% on gas used to heat hot water. It also can't save 75% on hot water usage, which is a very strange suggestion.

You tell me what you're claiming, and I can tell you, with my own real-life figures, if it's achievable or not.

If you can show me something where you can show a 75% saving, I'll see if there's something I need to apologise for.

In your situation. Are you saying that you are the model/control that these figures were arrived at? Lots of non definites in there too.

let's see your figures then.

Without a test module I couldn't and neither can you. Fir figures circa the 75% you will need to email sunamp and ask them their test criteria or ask them to supply you with the test procedure and results. Why would I do the leg work for you?

No response to any of my other points then JD?

Just as I predicted in my other post. I should be running Derren Brown for his money!

so you're complaining that I disagreed with the 75% claim, but you can't show me anything to suggest it was right?

I also said I calculated it might save me £40 a year, and I showed why. Can you show me anything to suggest I was wrong?
