If someone completed a minor electrical cert and he found no bonding to heating pipework would he need to carry out the repairs or simply note it on the Minor Elect cert.

On a Minor Electrical Cert test would he have to test the supplementary bonding using a multimeter to ensure the reading where not above .05 OHMS or is a minor cert just a visual test cert?

Thanks

A 'Minor Electrical Cert.' is for small jobs so if you are using the correct term and depending on what the work was the lack of bonding may not be noticed or relevant.

If it were just noticed you may be informed.

Only if it were relevant to the work.

or is a minor cert just a visual test cert?
No, it is to record circuit conditions relevant to the work being done.

For example - new socket(s), connecting cooker etc.

If the work were not in a bathroom why would you expect the supplementary bonding to be inspected?

Does the heating require this?

This really depends on the extent of work that had been carried out and whether the work done was relevant to having supplementary bonding in place
or is a minor cert just a visual test cert?
It is important that the appropriate inspection and testing is made but it will only concern the work that the minor works cert is relevant to.

I think a little elaboration of your concerns, would give the opportunity of a more conclusive answer.

The duty holder has to put his COTB, by signature for the completion of a MWC to BS7671. If the work eventually goes pear shape because of departures, he will be held accountable and get a job guarding the members of the harem - females excepted of course.
