Hi all,

I'm looking for abit of advice on what you would do to support the remaining slab. Plan is to do a kitchen extension and therefore this part of the slab will be removed at that time. The current floor has been removed to install a Insulated slab for UFH. The wall with the steel has been removed and built proerly again on a new strip foundation incase youre concerned.

Thanks in advance

Type 1 compacted.
Then some sand.
Insulation.
Dpc.
Concrete.

Is that what you are doing?

Hey Wayners,

Thanks for the reply, for the slab it will be 150 MOT, 150 Concrete slab with A142 Mesh as specified by the structural engineer, 150 PIR and then 50 screed on top, with the relevant DPMs in place, I’m just wondering how to secure that remaining slab which that wall is sitting on. I’m thinking about putting in some shuttering and filling with concrete for now, extension is planned for next year depending on costs.
