Hi
We live in a Bungalow and have a very samll kitchen, we are thinking about knocking down the wall between the kitchen and dinning room, and would like to know how we tell if the wall is a supporting wall or not.
When the bungalow was built it had a flat roof, then about 6 years ago a peaked roof was fitted.
From looking in the loft it appaers that the peaked roof was fitted straight onto the existing flat roof.
Many thanks..Kris

Break out a section of the ceiling plaster next to the wall to expose the ceiling joists. If they span onto the wall.. its load bearing. If there is nothing above the wall its probably not. :)
