Hi, I'll soon be building a deck over our back garden and was wondering if anyone could advise me regarding the supports under the frame which is 4x2 graded timber. I have some spare slabs which are 450x450 and approx 35mm thick, would these be adequate or should I get some 600x600x50mm slabs? Also would it be ok to bed these using cement mortar directly on to the soil, the lawn was sectioned & sliced out a couple of weeks ago & ground seems firm. And last question for now, how frequent should these be spaced? The deck thats going over the garden will measure approx 5mx4.2m.
Thanks in advance for any help/advice,
Ed.
