Surely this isn't asbestos

I am a textured ceiling which appears like artex

However, upon further investigation it actually appears to be textured wallpaper on a lath and plaster ceiling

If this is the case, am i right in saying that it can't be asbestos?

Or should i get this tested? (at a cost)

Yes just looks like textured paper to me.
I have heard scare stories about asbestos in wallpaper but I think they are just that stories.
Maybe very old Lincrusta types might be suspect, but not normal blown vinyl, woodchip or embossed papers like yours appears to be.

It's likely to be a bitch to remove dry. Buy a £25 steamer and it will be so much easier
