I want to cover all bases and make sure I've not missed anything thats all. Wouldn't you say that was sensible?

I would say that unless you dig deep and demand an evasive survey your survey will be like all surveys: a waste of money. As mentioned if you are doing this up then presumably then presumably you have some nous where restoration is concerned, in which case a survey seems pointless to me. Or maybe you haven't the nous? In which case it may not be such a good idea to take on such a project.

I've done a couple of project houses before to get me here, nothing like this though, this should be our 'forever' home.
