switch and socket heights

hello to all
i'm am busy building an extension,single storey dinning room, do the switchs and sockets have to be at the new heights 450 and 1200,or can they be the same heights as the existing one's in the house

iirc provided you aren't building a new property or stripping a property to external walls only you are only required to make disabled accessibility no worse than it was already (e.g. its perfectly fine to put your new sockets at the same height as your existing ones)

some local authority building control departments apparently belive differently though and making them behave can be tough or impossible.
