Just leave them alone. A sycamore tree is hardly the most precious thing in the English landscape, and the greenfly are near the bottom of the food chain. Without things like that, what is the rest of the animal kingdom going to live on?

It was perfect breeding conditions for greenfly this year apparently..

And it must be a small sycamore if you can get to the leaves....ours is about 18m tall !

but if you do want to thin them out a bit, diluted washing up liquid should work.
