Hello new to site.

My question is Can i fit a combi to my existing pipework.

I have a Gloworm boiler with immersion heater that is 25yrs old & looks to be giving up.Also i would like to free up the room taken by this mass of copper & i am also thinking of economy at these times.

By the way i am only interested in water pipework ch flow/return & hot water feeds.

Thanks

Ta for reply.

Ch flow/return 22mm straight swap ok.

With the system it is hot water feed from immersion tank is 22mm.

Dhw from combi out in 15mm.Will it have any effect on pressure/flow connecting to 22 or do i change hw pipe to 15mm completely.

Cheers

All 22mm hot should be changed to 15mm

Are you sure a combi is right for your house?

No im not 100% sure.I just presumed combis to be more efficient/economic.

My system i have at pres was installed by bg some 20+ years ago & i have to say has given no trouble.Space is a premium in my has ,by the way is a 2 bed semi converted to 3 bed by pulling bathroom downstairs.

After removing airing cupboard last week & seeing how much space i could gain & the state of some of the connections on the pipework/lump in side of immersion tank & also the removal of the bow in the ceiling from water tank i decided a combi was a good option?

The system a pres has 4 rads down & 3 rads up.Running mixer shower in bathroom along with bath/sink kitchen.

What is your suggestion as regards system.

Can i renew immersion tank/connections & move these into the loft. But then maybe i dont think there will be enough height for the header tank.Plus thers the extra pipework also the cost & then do i renew the boiler aswell.

Any suggestions?

Cheers
