Hi All.

I would like to lay a T&G (pine floorboard) floor at home. There is currently a screeded subbase. reading lots of forums there seens to be 3 approaches.

1. Secret nailing.
2. Laying buffers
3. gluing.

As a real wood floor which I hope to stain and varnish I am not looking for perfection but am limited as to how thick the batons could be (18mm max). This is not an engineered floor but real wood floorboards which i know will buck and expand. Could I lay it floating or secretely nailed using 10mm batons to enable air circulation or will it squeek.

thanks

Eddie

I glued mine together over laminate underlay over concrete floor, no movement or twisting.Timber should be left in room 2 week prior to acclimatize.

cheers I ve just found out that yacht varnished floorboards may not be suitable for a living room.

Any thoughts
