Hey I am wanting to take off a radiator for decorating. I know to turn the valves off at both sides to do this. However I know some times these valves can pass. Before I have capped the valve if this is the case by putting a pice of 15mm copper into it with a nut and olive on and then a cap end. However the rad valve seems to be 3/4's on this rad. Is there any way of capping these type of valves incase they are passing?

use a 3/4" cap end and rubber seal.

seco services, have you used these before for this purpose? What kind of rubber seal would I need?

use them all the time for capping off leaky rad valves, washing machine valves etc.

use a 3/4" rubber seal.

Thanks are they always 3/4 or can some be funny sizes. Defiantly looks 3/4 are house is about 25/30 years old.

I'm hoping to freeze the pipes under the floor then valve then to change then as the new radiator is a different size. I want to do this to avoid draining down the system as its a vented one so don't want propblems with air locks. This sound like a good idea
