So I've just had a carpet fitted in a spare bedroom and have decided that I'd like to do some more work to the room (moving radiator, skim plastering, recessing electrics, replacing skirting) which will be rather messy work.

My question is - is it possible to take up the carpet and have somebody easily come and fit it again when the work is done?

The dimensions of the room will not have changed at all but I don't want to risk being left with any gaps etc. Are there any significant risks?

Any info or thoughts would be very much appreciated!

Many Thanks!

simple answer - YES!

you could save money by lifting it yourself - but roll it do not fold it - the creases will NEVER come out

.........a carpet fitter will want exactly the same money you paid to fit it every time he attends!!! (think about it so would you if you fitted carpets to earn your money)

Great, thanks for the helpful reply!

It took them 40 mins at most to fit two rooms so I'd hope the fitting charge for one shouldn't be too off putting :)

Cheers

Sorry mate you are in London

I am up North and here you would pay 30 - 40 per visit

down there "NOBODY KNOWS" (sorry I am a bit of a QI fan  )
