Talking down your DIY job - Anyone else?

I always strive for perfection but there's always room for improvement so you never get there.

I find that the majority of DIY jobs are 90% preparation and 10% perspiration. Then there's the ones I call grudgers, jobs that take many hours but achieve very little. They're often bodges left by somebody else who couldn't be bothered to do the job properly.

Useful hint: When planning a really arduous job always leave time for a bath afterwards - and have the Carlsberg Special ready!
